WEEK OVERVIEW

Maker Monday – create with materials provided (core competencies are a focus for teacher observations)

Choice Warm-Up: Read, Write, Draw, Build, Math (quiet chatting with neighbours encouraged)

Time-to-Self: Quiet Read, Write, Math (student-teacher 1:1 conferences)

Read Aloud: Class choice chapter book read by teacher to model specific strategies or roles that we will use for Literacy Circles (part of Language Arts) 

Word Work – Students work within their groups and will have a different spelling pattern to focus on each week. Groups (we have 4 in our class) are based on an initial assessment and may change over the next few months
